((Mm, this is like PKMN Mystery Dungeon. I'll join, but I'm not a big fan of this form. I'll make another one eventually with my parameters.))
Minus the wings, I will be playing Jewel the eevee.
Jewel kept curled into a tight ball as the sun peeked into her small window. The eevee lived in the basement of her foster family's house on a bed of straw and feathers, her preference. She loved the den-like feel of the basement, and her foster mother knew that. The eevee raised her head slowly as the sun brightened her room, her blue eyes sliding open and adjusting quickly to the light. Though she was an eevee, Jewel's foster mother was a gardevoir at level 57 and her foster sister was a mightyena, recently leveled up to level 19. Jewel personally was at level 31 and acted that age from time to time, but slow maturity had left her with the personality of a much younger pokemon. Many assumed her to be hardly level 15.
((So basically Jewel is quite literally in her 30's, but acts like a 15-18 year old.))
Jewel slowly crept out of the bedding with a stretch, hardly glancing at her meager things. The fire that had taken her family had also taken most of her possessions. Jewel had been living with Amma and Tanka for nearly a 4 months now, and had gotten fond enough with Amma to call her mom.
Jewel popped her ears up from her basement dwelling and tried to peer through the door into the kitchen, but saw nothing. Directly in front of her was the pantry and storage area. A few creaks alerted Jewel to Tanka's presence in the kitchen; only it creaked like that. Heaving a sigh, Jewel hopped up the last few stairs and wandered into the kitchen where Amma was making breakfast, Tanka behind her, raiding the cabinet for food.
"I'm making breakfast hun. It will be done in a few minutes! You don't need to stuff your face right this second!" Amma scolded the young mightyena.
Tanka had been abandoned by her family, in a way. She often wrote and talked to them, but her mother's insistence that she was going north had separated the family. Tanka missed them very much, but had chosen to stay with her friends down south.
Without glancing at Jewel, Amma addressed her, "Good morning sweetie. How'd you sleep?"
Jewel pulled her ears back shyly, then sat down in the doorway.
"Only two nightmares last night. I think I got about 5 hours of sleep!"
"Oh, gee, 5 hours. How successful. I'd like to see you get about 8 hours of sleep each night, not 5!" Amma turned her red eyes on the eevee, sadness and love evident in them. She held her spoon high, "If you're lying to me about how much you're sleeping, you'll be back up here on the couch in an instant!"
Jewel instinctively flinched away from the raised hand, and Amma sighed heavily.
"DON'T flinch away from me. I'm not going to hurt you."
Jewel looked away nervously, "I know, mom. I know."
Tanka smiled, tongue lolling playfully out of her mouth. "She's gonna beat you, child!" The mightyena said, wandering off into the living room.
"Tch. That's what you think!" Jewel snapped after her, but refused to follow since that would mean having to pass too close to Amma. Flighty as she was, Jewel rarely went too close to anyone, even her beloved Amma.
"Alright, breakfast is on! Corned beef hash and scrambled eggs. And biscuits. Eat up!" Amma handed Jewel her plate, which she took in her mouth and walked carefully out to the living room, giving Amma wide berth. Amma brought out a plate for herself and Tanka, and the trio ate in silence.
After they had finished, Tanka took the dishes back to the kitchen while Jewel jumped up onto the couch and layed down beside Amma, resting her head on the gardevoir's lap.
"I'm off to work bye!" Tanka yelled as she dashed out the door and on her way to the farm up the road.
"I must really be on my way, too." Amma said, stroking Jewel's thick white mane. Jewel pulled back from Amma, watching with sad eyes. She had had a job, but after a fight with another employee, had been fired. So much for being the inventory person at the store.
"Don't look at me like that. You aren't going to be alone if you go and find some other friends. Or another job. Whichever you prefer. Don't wander too far from this house, young lady. I don't trust some of our neighbors."
Jewel looked away from Amma as her mom lectured her and remained quiet even after Amma kissed her head and left.
"Don't wander too far. Right." Jewel mumbled, stepping out into the morning sunshine. "What she don't know don't hurt her."
With that said, Jewel took off down the road, blissfully naive to the dangers that did exist in her neighborhood. The eevee knew that if Amma found out she had wandered outside of her designated area, the gardevoir would beat her ass, but Jewel just needed to get out for a while.
