xD I've been at it for the past . . . omg, six years? But I've been D&Ding longer than that. Which makes me feel both sad, and old. :/ And that's kind of how I got Kayla into it.

I always thought making an RP char would be fun, have my D&D char mapped out, to lazy to draw him though, drawing was never that great ... well if i happened to know a REAL game master then i would actually get into D&D, can borrow my fathers old Dice and everything lol

Hahahaa. . . . I have my own set. -covets- threesetsactually But yeah. I started a game with my friend's boyfriend, and he's not too bad. I'm too chicken to actually start my own campaign, but I probably will. In many, many years.

But inventing worlds are so haaaard, and you still have to conform to the rulebook, to a point, and gamers are always so particular. "I walk into the village. What do I see? Okay, what's to the left of me? Right? What is northeast? What about that hill you mentioned as we passed by it an hour ago? Anything interesting? Anyone trying to kill us?"

lol, ya gets redundant but its not always the stories within but the world itself, for instance, i Play World of Warcraft, the world they use , Azeroth, was created by a DnD player and they made it into a full on RTS and MMORPG franchise

hahaha WoW But they kind of have poetic license over that. They don't affiliate themselves with D&D, so they can tinker with the races and classes as they please. No one's expecting them to be just like D&D Actually, a lot of people have complained 4th ed of D&D is too much like WoW.

ya thats cause WoW IS a D&D base .. then again so is any other world in which there are races and classes not human.

No, as in the new edition was based too much off of WoW. But I wasn't old enough to hear complaints that WoW is too much like whatever edition was out when WoW was put out. (2.0?) And D&D was based off of J.R.R. Tolkein's Middle Earth.

mmm yes the basis of D&D is middle earth, therefore Middle Earth is the father of Azeroth !!!! j/k well no matter the case, i havent seen the fourth edition, i have a mint condition first edition my father kept he also has some RP called Aftermath, and the original Mechwarrior, which was like another RP game ... DnD was the only RP game that hit it off big tiem for well known, After math is like that but its Realistic, after a nuclear war, your country is rebuilding, yada yada

xD omg, my dad's collection of pen and paper games is ever-growing. We've got some pirate thing in there, and some post-apoc I think, and GURPS and like I don't know, a western? And he's got a couple of those board-game-like-rpgs like Warhammer. And his dice/figurine collection in insane. I even found a couple decks of a few different types of card games - Magic the Gathering included. It's sort of fascinating. And railroad games, which has nothing to do with anything we've discussed, but we have like three of those :3 And this really fun game, "Once upon a time . . . " it's really great.

i have a game called Dark World, really old game, still awesome, its like a preset DnD dungeon, albeit alot easier to understand, and it has a few quirks, but its fun nonetheless, pain in the ass to learn and play, as well as setup. that goes with our Celtic game tawlbwrdd (throw-board) which i havent quit played yet.
