"It's . . . so hot." Devlyn panted to herself, still slung over the fallen tree trunk. But she didn't move; she didn't feel compelled to. The sun still beat down on her, her pores were still crying, her hair was still plastered to her body, and her skin was turning a nice rosy red. There were too many people, and none of them seemed interested in clearing up the dead. Except, maybe, Devlyn, who glanced back at the dead body she'd found herself next to. Grimacing, she heaved herself over the trunk and started crawling, fat ass in the air, toward the forest.
Amalia sat back, for the first time quiet in her Spanish babbling, still clutching Rosalita tightly. Behind her, her son had sat down in the waves, and began idly playing with the sand. "Pueblito," Amalia said suddenly, hoarsly, causing her son to look up in surprise. "Pueblito, per favor, vienes aqui. Sabes ingles, verdad? Si, si, claro, si, lo siento, mijo. Como - como estas? Bien? Hasten roto algunes miembros?" She turned to Pueblo and moaned involuntarily. Pain shot through her right side, suddenly making her conscious of every ache in her body. Bones were broken; she couldn't determine where. She crumpled over Rosalita's body, pain creasing her face. "Mama?" Pueblo stood, eyes wide. "Mama? Estas bien? Què pasa? Mama? Mama!" He hesitated, briefly touching Amalia on the back, but received no verbal response. Pueblo looked up again, searching the shoreline for the woman he had seen healing a man. But he couldn't see her, and he didn't want to leave his mother alone. So he tried the next best thing. Stepping out from Amalia and Rosalita, he started jumping up and down, splashing the water that lapped at his bare feet and waving his arms, all the while shouting: "Per favor, ayudame! Mi mama - help, please!" Switching between English and Spanish in an almost rhythmic manner. ((I'd like to point out - deserted = empty. Therefore, nothing would be living on the island, because it's deserted. So no worries. Right?))

((But is it deserted? Certainly there weren't any people on the island. *gives cory a warning look* but now there is. Daniel could be trouble. Amongst all the other problems that haven't surface yet. Certainly no need to worry but I honestly don't know what I will do next. Should be exciting right?))

((o.O Umm. Yeah. Exciting. Absolutely no need to worry. It's not like they're stuck on an island or anything, with no obvious way to get off, and loved ones somewhere in the world worrying about them. It's like Disneyland. Paris.))

((omfg, how are you making it through high school without reading lord of the freaking flies? do we really have to equate this role-play to a tv show and a book? they obviously have conflicting facts. we have minds. creative ones.))

Kale heard yelling. He was just getting in touch with the world around him, outside of his head where he was rooting around like a thief ransacking his mind for answers. Ayudame. Help, please. He could certainly need help but he wasn't the one speaking. This was all so confusing. He stood up, slowly, and bruched dirt off the back of his pants. Wait, he shouldn't bother with that, somone needed help. He walked slowly to the source of noise, not becuase he didn't want to go fast but becuase he was in much pain. A broken rib maybe? His lap and abdomen certainly hurt from where the seatbelt jerked on him. He exited the forest, onto the beach. A boy. A woman. A bloody todler, so young. Any other man would have thrown up or something but Kale was conditioned to be unnaffected by something so wrong, something no one should have to see. It was coming back to him. He would have ran but he certainly walked as fast as he could. He knew what to do. Sort of. The woman was in obvious pain. She propably had a broken rib or two, maybe a concussion, maybe something worse, like a bone chip in the blood stream. If it was the latter then there was no way he could help her, he didn't have surgery equipment and certainly wouldn't know what to do. He wasn't in med school yet. He walked up to the woman, putting his hand on her shoulder, he knew it wouldn't help her pain but he found it helped when he had a physical connection with the patient. His father said that, like his mother, he could help people just by touching them. He new that she would likely survive. "Where does it hurt?" He asked in a urgent but not worried tone. A doctor voice.

((Lost freaking sucked. I HATE that show. This island is(was) deserted, like Lord of the Flies. One of my favorite books, fyi. Dun slam books you haven't read. And I dun remember anything traumatic happening at DL Paris... Your mom was there...*Stares questioningly*))
"Ooohhh. Well, that stinks. (A plane crash? I thought that only happened in movies) My name's Mari. Marine Branford, but I prefer just Mari. Me and Gund like water." She looked back at KC and Kaye, "I guess I can go with you for a little while, but my mommy won't be very happy about it. Nope. She said I can talk to strangers, but never go with them. But, since we are all alone here and Gund is scared, we will come. I don't like Gund being scared." She hugged the dog close, the turned away from the water and began walking along the treeline.

KC smiled. It was very good that Mari decided to come with. You never knew what kind of wackos were out there or how somone so young would survive. KC didn't want to see anyone get hurt. Although the little girl seemed to be leading at the moment. Strange but cute. Kaye followed KC slowly. He was tired. As they walked they crossed death many times. There was no avoiding it. The island was strewn with bodies and you couldn't walk a foot without seeing some form of death. This greatly upset KC. The pain and death was unbearable. The worst was a twelve year old boy, battered and bloody. Tears excaped from KC's eyes but they walked on. the occasional living person passed and sometimes they came with, sometimes they did not. When they had about twelve all together Kaye called for a halt, in the clearing they were in there was no bodies and many people were tired. KC went to a woman who was more hurt than most, broken arm and cracked ribs and skull fracture. It was amazing she was still able to walk. Kaye thought that this was a good place to stay. overhanging trees provided reasonable shelter, until they could find better, and it was pretty large. He worked up his courage to say so. He felt a kind of responsibility to the group he had gathered. none of the ones he picked up had thought of gathering people, they were just wandering around with no porpose. "I think we should stay here for the night," he said in a raised voice, so all could hear, while he stood, "It's getting dark and many of us shouldn't be walking right away." There was a murmur of assent, along with one or two grumbles, from the healthier more focused one moving on ones. everone stayed though.

There was a shared look of confusion on the boy and woman's faces. "N-no hablo ingles, señor." She said meekly; what little English she'd picked up anyplace escaped her capacity. Pueblo jumped to her aid. "Mamá, Mamá, está bien. Dice: da donde se duela? Da donde se duela, Mamá, da donde?" He urged her, hovering inches behind. Amalia's eyes brimmed with tears, looking up at the man. "En todas partes - especialmente aqui - en mi corazon, señor, en mi corazon." She raised a shaky hand to her chest, wincing. "In - um - everywhere, especially here - in my heart." Pueblo translated, looking slightly embarrassed at relaying his mother's frantic message. "Can you help her, señor?"
Devlyn caught sight of legs before she realized they belonged to living people. She jumped up happily, gasping for air, before waddle-running toward the cluster. It was a curious group, but they were alive; better than being with the sick and dying back there. And the dead. She shivered at the thought of it. When they stopped, Devlyn stuck to the sidelines; she wasn't sure she wanted to be noticed, it had been working for her so far, but the fact that there were so many pained strangers intimidated her.
((^.^ Thanks. I love playing them on these kind of rps. I dun suppose you speak Spanish, uh, fluently? 'Cause I already know my grammar is waaaay off. Well, maybe not waaay off, but still. Off. And Turkey, m'dear, it was my dry humour at play. This is nothing like Disneyland. Paris. Would Tokyo have been a better reference?))

((Ahahaha...ha. Right. I knew that.))
Mari blinked at all the people that had joined them. "So many." She said softly, clutching Gund as if he were her life source. The girl backed away from the crowd; people in general made her very nervous. Kaye and KC appeared to be busy trying to lead the people, so Mari backed away a bit and glanced around. A familiar face catching her eye, Mari gave a shout of joy and headed over to the woman. "Devlyn! Do you remember me? I'm Mari. You sat next to me, 'member?" With that said, Mari immediately clung to Devlyn's waist, burying her face into the woman's hip. "You DO remember me, doncha?" She whimpered, her fear becoming noticeable for the first time.

Vivian glanced at the man who sat down next to her, observing him for a minute. She shivered, his sudden presence making her slightly uncomfortable. She looked down at the two figures sleeping on the sand and smiled, happy that they could find rest on this island. Her head resting on her knees and eyes closed, she listened to the sound of the ocean waves.
