"Well, thank you Minna." Garis handed his reigns to a stablehand. "Come." Garis led the pair into the castle keep itself, a round behemoth of solid, thick walls. Surrounding the keep was another wall. Garis went throught the gate, up the ramp through the huge doors into the keep. Garis led the two through large hallways, blandly decorated. The floors had no carpets, and a few paintings and tapestries hung on the walls. Finally he reached a huge double door with two guards. As he approached, the guards pushed open the doors, leading into a huge, gilded throne room. Chairs led along either side, for the knights, but in the back was a large chair made of silver with ornate gold leafing. Clearly fit for a Queen. "Your rooms are to the right of your throne, ours are to the left." Garis said.
((You can describe your rooms, I'm sick and really don't feel like going into much detail))

Minna walked up to the throne. She reached out her gloved hands and traced down the arm. She stared at it, unable to tell if this was really happening. She felt her eyes turn hot with tears, and fought hard to hold them back. She quickly turned and walked into her room, not wanting anyone to see she was showing emotion, although she's sure a few guards saw this happen.
She opened up the heavy oak doors, and inside, it was spectacular. The floor was tiled with shale, the walls were simple cobelstone. A bed was placed beside a tall stain glass window. The woodwork on the bed was a deep red, rich color. The blankets and pillows were laced in the same color, this time more of a cherry red though. A massive desk was across the room; the wood matched her bed. On the desk were scrolls of paper, a large supply of ink, as well as a few other office needs. Throughout the room were many decorations, a few plants with herbal remedies, some tables with odds and ends on them. She set her bags down and walked over to the desk. If she were a normal girl, she'd be laying on the bed and giggling hugging the pillows, but she was not just a girl. She was a woman. A Queen. She rolled out one of the scrolls; it was blank. She took a quil and ink, and started to write plans on it. She wrote down who was in charge of what, how many weapons there were, and important things like that. She set it aside to dry, and pulled out another scroll of parchment. She began to write her speach for that evening.

Garis went to the left, entering into a hallway. His room was the first door on the right, Marrok's was the first on the left. He opened the door into the redstone room, built as he wanted. The walls were all deep red stone, the floor was flagstone. His bed was up against a large window looking out upon the main courtyard. He set his bags on the bed. He took his armor off, instead strapping on his deep red dress armor. He strapped his sword back onto his back, hanging his bow and his quiver on a hook on the wall. He walked back out into the throne room. He approached the silver throne, tracing a finger along it. Old memories. He walked behind the chair, a guard moving aside for him.

Minna stripped herself of the armor and other clothes and changed into a dress of high fashon. The rich emreld color made her skin glow, her eyes sparkle and her hair as bright as the sun. She put on a few small acessories and left her bed room. She froze, staring at the chair. Something about it made her wonder what she was here for. Was she really ready to be Queen, or was she just wishing? She saw Garis standing behind the chair. Her face formed into a smile and then quickly dropped. She was in the presence of others, she had to keep her emotions blank. She took slow, even strides to the chair. She couldn't bring herself to sit in it yet. There was too much to be done.

((XD I completely didn't finish my last post.))
Garis smiled back at Minna, motioning for her to join him. "Here, here is where I would spend many days. Of course, when I lived here this room was used for a much different use." Garis took a key from around his neck. It was the gold skeleton key from his box. He moved aside a curtain, revealing an iron door. He slid the key into the lock, moving aside the heavy iron bolt. When he opened the door, it led into a long room alost identical to the room on the third floor of his house. It was dark, only a few torches lit the space. It was about three times the size of the room at his house, and about three times as full. "This is all of the stuff that they didn't destroy. Every book, every scroll, every weapon...all of it belonged to Bernt. Apparently our friend Sir Jordan kept a few things of his own, saving them from the moat."

((Lol! That's okay. I thought it ended kinda odd... Hope you like the sweet little tid bit I added at the end. Took me a while to get it right.)) Minna followed Garis' command. She watched him carefully, wondering what it was that he was about to do. She gasped when she saw what was hidden inside. She quickly walked in. "Oh Garis, Sir Jor-" She froze. What was before her made her bones freeze and her heart stop. It was a letter, addressed to her. She let her shaky hand reach forward to the aged envalope. Scribbled in some messy heavy black ink was her name, "Dearest Minna" She turned it over in her hand, it was sealed with teh family cresdt in black wax on the back. "Garis, if I could be alone..." She said this with a shaky voice. It weighed a fair bit, and if Minna had a guess, it was about what was to happen in her future and perhaps some more insight on his life. Minna glared at the paper and in a fit of range she threw it. It landed only a few feet from her for the parchment was older, it was not as heavy as the new kind. She looked up at the ceiling and fought back tears. He was a coward, and to leave her mother and her, on his own free will? What kind of man was he! He abandoned them for his own love of blood, of his lust for war, his friends...For Garis! Had he known this? What about Marrok? Had he known? She drew her dagger and stabbed the paper, right in the middle. She fell to her knees then and cried, unable to hold it back. This great man, all his secrets to his greatness were nothing. He had none. he was a no body, a fake, a fraud, and this meant she was too.

Marrok had slid silently and unnoticed into the room while Minna was still reading the note. His heart clenched into a fit of pain for the girl- not his arrhythmia, but sympathy. The bard felt simply awful for not having told Minna sooner what he knew, but Bernt had said to remain quiet, so quiet Marrok remained. His grey eyes narrowed in sadness as he watched Minna's outburst- Marrok didn't know precisely what the letter said anymore, but he knew the gist. He'd even hinted at Minna a few times that her father wasn't as great as she was making him out to be, but alas he couldn't sway the hopeful heart. Couldn't bring himself to crush the young woman's spirit. On feet silenced by soft leather shoes, Marrok knelt beside Minna and placed his hand on her shoulder, eying her with tears in his own eyes. "I- I am deeply sorry... I was held by oath to say nothing." He managed to whisper out to the ailing girl.
((Bah, crappy post. W/e. It's been a long day. =_=))

Garis could only watch as Minna read the letter and then threw it. He was ashamed that he had never really told her the truth, but Bernt was like a brother to him, and he had told him to watch over Minna, to take care of her, and be a father to her in the event of his death. He would have never thought that she would ever need to know. But now...now she knew. "Minna, I'm sorry." He said. "I would have told you, but you were like a daughter to me, I didn't want to hurt you." he finished, kneeling beside her.

Minna sat there, unsure of what to think or do. Eventuallty it was too much to hold back, the hot tears flew down her red cheeks and landed in little droplets on the stone floor. Part of her wanted to yell at the two men, to tell them to get away from them and she didn't need their help. Another part wanted to reach out and hug onto them. "Why...why did you two make him seem to be so great? He was a coward running from responsibility. He ran away from my mother, from me! I have no need to avenge his name anymore, it's already tarnished. He ruined it, he ruined our name...He ruined everything!" She glared back and forth between the two men. Her voice was rising, anger clearly present in her face. "You held ALL of this back! You led me with FALSE hope! You two, BOTH of you! You lied to me!" She quickly stood up and turned to face them, slowly walking backawrds to the door. She froze, her deep, endless blue eyes gave a cold, harsh, sincere glare filled with hate and confusion.

"Minna, he was a man who made wrong choices, wrong decisions. He loved you more than he loved his own life. He would have done anything for you. And false hope is still hope. Instead of fighting for your father's name, fight for your own name. Fight for who you must be, for who you were meant to be. Fight for who you want to be. Minna, we all make poor decisions in our life. Your father's have been made. It's too late to do anything about them. So now, repeal your hate for him, and love him like the father he would have been. Don't fight for him, fight for who you want him to be." Garis did not make any move towards her. What she did she did on her own accord.

Minna did nothing but sit there, her face buried into her hands. How could Bernt have loved someone that he didn't know? Someone he didn't even try to know? She hated him; she despised him and wanted nothing to do with him. She cursed his name under her breath as she looked up. She turned to Garis and balled her fist up. She swung it as hard as she could at him. "You still lied to me! Fathers don't lie to their daughters!" She quickly got up and ran out of the room. She left the huge doors that were across her throne; she ran out of the hall and down the stairs and found the grass and the lands outside of the barriers. She found her dog out in the stables sleeping on a pile of hay. She collapsed next to her and hugged tight. The dog wagged her tail and began to lick Minna's face. A tall, tanned man walked out from one of the stalls. His hair was a golden brown and sat on his muscular face in the fashion of a servant. His chest was bare and showed slight signs of toning. He wore dark brown trousers and black boots. "Queen Minna," his voice was slightly young sounding yet well rounded. "Are you alright?" Minna looked up in shock. She quickly stood and brushed herself free of the hay. "Yes, kind sir. May I ask your name and rank?" "Ha-ha, rank if you wish to call it that. I care for the horses, and my name is Kyard." "Kyard, I wish you had made yourself known before I had come in here." She set her face to stone. "Nah you Majesty, you need a place to be alone. I'll letch-ya be Milady." Minna shook her head. Do you need a break from work?" Something about him made her want to relax; she didn't want to be a queen around him. She wanted to be her, and only her. "Sure, I could use one. What did you have in mind?" She let a small smile cross her lips. Within moments they were racing on two beautiful stallions through the tall grass of the plains that never ended. So what if Minna was neglecting her duties? She didn't care any more. "So why did you want to get away from the castle Queen Minna?" She laughed. "I found out some truths that bothered me." She slowed her horse down to a steady, slow pace. Kyard was quick to follow. From there they let their horses carry a slow pace, and they carried on with slow talk. The sun began to set behind the horizon before they knew what was happening. "I should be getting back, I have to address the warriors soon..." "Yeah, I need to get back to work too, before I get in trouble." Remorse was in both of their voices. On the way back, neither spoke until back at the stables. "Say, Minna, do you have a lucky prince picked out?" Minna shook her head and patted the horse as she demounted. "No, I don't plan on getting a prince either." Kyard nodded. "You aught to get back...They'll be missing you." He led the horses away to the back before she could respond. Something deep inside of her stirred an unwanted liking for the boy. He was not a prince, he was a lowly stable hand, yet he had managed to make a smile, laughter, and secrets bud from the stone that she had turned into. She walked back into the castle and right into her chamber. She fell onto her bed and wept some more, unable to control this sudden urge. (Wow, loooong post. )

Garis took the punch to his chest. She may have been a great deal smaller then he, but she could hit. He watched her run out, he made no mave to stop her. "Well, there's always hell to pay long after things like this happen." He said to Marrok. "I'd best go and help Jordan.
As Garis directed the last of the guard teams, Jordan walked up to him. "You been by the stables lately?" he asked. "No, why?" Garis asked him. "Minna's horse is gone." "To be expected. Don't worry, she'll turn up eventually." "You sure she'll be okay?" Jordan asked. There was a tugging thought in the back of his mind that said no. "Yeah, she'll be okay."

She sat up and changed into her battle garments. She froze, before putting on the breast plate. Why was she doing this? She had nothing to gain, aside from a whole country, loyal followers, and a title of a Queen. But then again she had so much to lose. Her life, her name, the castle, the battle, her friends (like she could call them that now). She finally managed to put on the breast plate as well as the other garments. She swung open the door, her face set in stone again (aside from the deep red in her cheeks from her anger) and her posture tall. She walked over to Sir Jordan. "Are the soldiers rallied?" She refused to make eye contact; she knew if she did she wouldn't be able to hold it together.

"Yes." Sir Jordan said. He could tell that she was...angry, to say the least. They're in the courtyard, there's a podium for you." Jordan kept a hand on his sword. He reached out and put a hand on her shoulder. "I can't say not to be angry, but there are some things that the world simply wants left behind. I can only tell you that this is one of them. Now, you are my Queen, and in my past years, I have found that a distraught Queen is a distracted Queen, and a distracted Queen is a bad Queen. All I'm asking is that you put this behind your duties, save it for personal times, and when you are a Queen, at least pretend to be happy." He turned and left, headed to the courtyard.
Garis laid back on his bed, staring at the same ceiling he had twenty some odd years ago. Tears filled his eyes, and he wiped them away. He stood up quickly, grabbing his cloak and taking the hallway that led out of the castle. He walked quickly to the stables. He mounted his horse, and without another word to another sould, rode from the castle gates.
