((Pshaaaw, Cory, Lorry is just a calico house cat, not a cheetah. XP))
Meera watched the spectacle from her branch that she'd wandered onto. She made no attempt to do anything, of course- in this situation, too many bodies would be more trouble than it was worth.
Her eyes became misty as she watched the cat- it looked a lot like the now deceased Minx, only Minx had less white and more brown. Meera bobbed her head, chasing away her thoughts, and she crouched down to see how this would all play out.
Rusite heard the yell, "Cat!", plus many other noises and more yelling. It made her extremely nervous and she pranced on her toes for a moment, indecisive. Where there were cats, there were leftovers. Where there was yelling, there was trouble and pain. A growl from her stomach resolved the issue. She slunk almost silently through the brush- mostly out of fear rather than grace or experience- and crouched down in a bush, watching with interest and fear. The bush leaves obstructed her vision, but she could make out an eagle, a cat, and a wolf. She could hear two other birds above them- oh, and a squirrel behind her. And a mouse to the left. And another mouse by it. Her ear turned subconsciously, putting half her mind onto the potential meals around her.

Lorry Lavna let out a yowl of surprise and anger at the eagle's dodge. Coming at a fast realization that she was not half the size she thought she was, she brazed the talons of the eagle before landing on the wolf's back. Haunches up and bony shoulder blades, however, made for poor grip. She clawed desperately, trying to hold on, but failed. Sliding down the size of the wolf, with much protest, she fell to the rock. But her journey wasn't finished. Rock is worse for claw-holding-contact, and she rolled down the boulder head-over-tail, landing her at the bottom in a pile of dead and decaying leaves. Within an instant, however, she was back on her feet, scrambling away from the muck to a cleaner patch of grass. Only then did she settle, keeping a watchful eye on the creatures as she sat back on her haunches, tail tucked neatly next to her leg, and promptly began to lick herself. Purposefully taking her time to answer the falcon, she switched her gaze to him. He had to know who was boss.
After a minute or so of cleaning, Lorry Lavna paused to answer his question.
"I'm hungry," she replied simply. "I think I'm trying to get lunch. I am a feline; it's what I do."

Tyrik rolled his shoulder blades. The damn cat's claws still tore skin. He should fine in a few seconds. He snarled at the cat, Athral re-perching himself on Ty's back. "Well then cat, looks like you're going hungry a bit longer, eh?" He had to establish a dominance with the feline. He was bigger than she, by far, and more powerful as well. He thought her to be bigger, but cat's tend to seem larger when they're flying through the air. He now saw that he was much larger. "Did that hurt, hmm? Guess eagles just aren' yer type." He said with rolled r's, and a subtly scottish accent. He grew up in the north of the British Isles before he met Ty. Ty snarled again, and Athral flew to a nearby branch. Ty hopped down from the rocks, and stood over by the feline. "I would suggest being peaceful, or looking for food elsewhere, if you don't mind." He said without breaking eye contact with her.

Kaye stopped preening to look at the cat. He knew she was right of course. That was the natural order of things but she wanted to eat one of his clan and also an eagle muuch larger than her! He didn't know what to think of her. Was she crazy or just very immature? He flew over to where Meera was and perched by her and started to give her a light preen. Sometimes he wondered where he would be without her. He didn't have anything to say. Ty's words were exactly the ones he would have said. The weather had became overcast without him noticing and now it was drizzling lightly.

Meera sat quietly and took the preening, eyes closing as she relaxed and felt comforted. After a few moments, she spoke quietly. "It is the way of the cat. Cat eats the bird. Dog eats the cat. Size does not matter. Especially if the cat is hungry enough or bold enough." She nodded slowly, thinking of Korchi and Chai, a black panther and a leopard that she had befriended. They spoke many times times of the much smaller forest cats attacking prey nearly twice their size. Korchi even swore that once she saw a forest cat attack a fawn that was a few hours old. And won the fight.
Rustie's body began to shake at the angry wolf's tone. She had heard angry male dogs all her short life- it never meant anything good. She found herself fearing for the cat, even though the cat had failed to catch a meal that Rustie could run off with when the cat was done. She crouched lower, until her belly fur was just barely touching the ground. All her muscles were tense, readly to bolt should a fight brake out.

Lorry Lavna glanced at the eagle as it addressed her in such a way that irked her. Feeling a sudden sensation of hostility from before her, her ears lay flat. She stopped cleaning herself, to reply to the eagle and watch the wolf clamber down from the rock.
"Oh. They're my type." Her tone was cool, if not cold, and she matched the wolf's gaze perfectly.
If there was one thing she'd learned in her twelve months - and there were many things she had learned in those twelve months - it was that dogs, and anything closely related with them, were disgustingly clinging, dependent, and loyal. The only surprise was the lack of aggressiveness from the wolf, though Lorry Lavna was fairly certain he was soft enough that she could, at least, impair him. She maintained her long, unblinking, hardly romantic stare.
"But I do mind. You see, I'm hungry. The humans don't like mice or rats, and they're in short supply. Why bother finding rodents in the forest when I'm surrounded by three, large, delicious-looking birds? I don't suppose you're vegetarian, Eagle? Wolf? Falcon?"
She didn't address the owl for the simple fact that the owl appeared to be on her side. Or, at least, not against her; and that was good enough for Lorry Lavna.

"Oh, no, none of us are any more vegatarian than you. It's just that I can't have you clawing at my friend." He said, holding back a snarl. The wolf inside him said 'Eat the cat!! Eat the cat!!', while the human said, 'It's not worth it, just leave it alone.' So Ty growled at the small cat, and climbed back up the rock to rejoin Athral.

Kaye felt ashamed of himself. He was going to have to get used to the rules of life. When something had to eat to live, other things had to die. He wasn't going to be a hypocrite and he wasn't going to let his clan down like that again. Next time something tried to eat one of his clan he would make them sorry. On a side note he also felt a little baffled and proud. Had the cat called him large? He was with a giant owl a huge eagle and a wolf! He was quite small compared to them. Maybe she was excluding him. "You! Cat! Either try to eat another one of us and die or get out of here." His killer instinct was rising in him but he didn't notice. He just felt more malevolent and he lurched away from Meera speeding towards the cat, talons out, to stop, hovering, a foot in front of her. He was begining to feel funny and was acting more on instinct than he had ever. Excluding the two-leg incident.

Meera did nothing. She crouched down in her nest and shook her head sadly at the cat. There was nothing she could do for the little feline.
Rustie felt an odd twinge in her heart as the falcon dived towards the cat. With a bark, she leapt out of the bush and landed beside the cat, mane and hackles raising defensively. As she had leapt, thought had seized within her brain. Now, as she stood there snarling like an idiot, she realized what she had done. She had defied elder males. Her fur flattened instantly along with her ears and tail.. She opened her mouth- terror filled her. with a soft yip, she retreated a few steps, her body shaking horribly. What had she been thinking? Something along the lines of pity and understanding.
Meera sat up on her branch in surprise. 'What an intriguing day. Cats attacking eagles, falcons attacking cats, and dogs defending said cat. I do believe the line of normalcy has been ruptured." She hooted with delight at her phrase.

Lorry Lavna hissed at the falcon's attack, backing down and away. Her fur puffed up, her muscles tensed, her claws at the ready. She was prepared to leap at the falcon, to attack it, to rip it to shreds - and then to promptly eat it; she was hungry, and she wasn't picky about her food. At the ready, watching the swooping attack - only to have some smelly, unclean, impure, definitely not feline dog step between her and breakfast.
She jumped back, surprised, but took the now cowering canine as a step toward the stupid bird. Lorry Lavna used her to her advantage. Leaping to cover the space between her and the dog, she jumped on the dog's back with what she hoped was an intimidating yowl.
((ooc: Sorry for the delay; I kind of got caught up in the two-day freshman orientation, preceded by moving in, preceded by getting here.))

Athral shreiked, "Kaye! No!" He swooped from the tree branch, but he knew he wouldn't make it in time. The best he could do was attack her off of him, or pray that he could get out of the way fast enough. He was a falcon anyways. Tyrik was watching Kaye as he dove at the cat, and fortunately, wasn't even high up on the rocks yet. It was safe to say that even though Kaye was a falcon, Ty beat him to the cat. He had to go around the side of the cat to get down. He had begun his charge long before Kaye, for he knew what was about to happen. He slammed into the side of the cat just as she leapt. He was angry now, and put a paw on her side, pinning her down. He snarled viciously. "Go. Away." He said between growls.

Kaye was confused. He hovered there, dazed, wondering how events could move along so fast. It was the dog that brought him back to normal. such a brave thing to do even if it was deflated by the immediate fear. He wanted to stand up for others like that dog did. Well without the cowering afterwards. The dog must be naturaly brave but had bad experiences. Another quandry, afraid of him? What was he doing here anyways? Wasn't he with Meera? He knew he was angry at the cat but he was losing interest. He wished it would just go away or at least stop being a threat. It appeared that it wanted to eat him but Tyrik had stopped her from trying. He didn't like the hostility that Ty was showing her. Where were his manners? He ignored the scene of the wolf and cat instead turning his attention back to the dog. "Hello, I'm Kaye." He addressed the dog in a calm, almost soothing, voice. "What you just did was one of the best things I have ever seen. you might have been scared in the end but I'm sure you had a reason. The fact you were scared dosn't diminish the thought of it and I admire it very much." He said his voice a little enthusiastic near the end in awe. He put off asking her about joining his clan becuase he thought it might overwhelm her.

Rustie stared at the falcon wide-eyed. "I-I-I'm Rustie." She breathed, her back tingling from where the cat had pushed off. "I-I don't like, uh, fighting." Her ears were pinned to her skull. She sounded terrified and on the verge of a heart attack. She began a retreat towards the undergrowth, her wide, horrified eyes on the wolf.
Meera, now vastly intrigued by the goings-on of the forest clearing, watched to see how the cat would take to being pinned by a wolf. The little beast had seemed undaunted by everything else so far.
((Haha, I didn't reply because i didn't want to. X3 But, there, now I have. Let the show go on!))

A low growl came from Lorry Lavna's throat as she glowered up at the wolf. She didn't bother to squirm - just breath and glare.
"Get your filthy paw off me, mutt. You don't know who you're messing with." Lorry Lavna said in a low, angry tone.

"Look, runt, I shall kill you now unless you give me a good reason to let you live your pathetic life. I am clearly larger and stronger than you, and I know exactly what I am dealing with, a small, arrogant cat. Either find peace with us or leave, now."
