Kaye waited around his part of the forest expectantly. It had been a couple days and he just knew his new clan would start eventualy. It had to happen, it would happen. He didn't see anyone that might want to join his clan today, he only saw Meera to chat with. He began to fly back to the cliff where he rested doing tricks in the air for the fun of it.

Tyrik watched the falcon with some interest. It had been ten years since he had had any human interaction, and it had been seven since he had had. . . any interaction with anything. He hoped that maybe this falcon would be willing to travel with him. He wanted someone to talk to, if he remembered how to do that. He decided to find out. The black werewolf jumped up onto a tall rock, and climbed up higer, until he was near the top of the trees. He let off a howl, a long, high pitched cry, solemn and hopeful. He sat on his haunches, seeing if the bird would reply.

Kayes immediate reaction was to do an immediate barrel roll and loop. When he slowed down and listened to sound he understood he wasn't going to be eaten. He might have found a member for his clan! He went into a stoop and dove to where the sound was. When he neared the trees he pulled out of the stoop, still dropping , using the inertia to carry him down even though his wings were out. He stopped perfectly two feet in front of the strange looking wolf. He looked the wolf in the eye. "I'm Kaye!" He said excitedly.

Tyrik almost flinched from the enthusiasm and optimism in the falcons voice. It kind of caught him offguard. He was expecting maybe a 'Who do you think you are coming in here and making all the ruckus like that?' but maybe it was a remnant of his past rejection. He dropped his gaze in a way that a wolf would do when stared down by its superior. "Um, hi Kaye, my name's Tyrik, but you can call me Ty if you want." He looked back up at the cheery falcon. "You know, I wish I could fly, but I guess it would conflict with my running. I guees that's one thing that neither of us will know. the opposite mode of transport." Tyrik chuckled. "So what part of this forest d'you call home, Kaye?"

Kaye noticed the way the wolf didn't meet his eye. It wasn't unusual for a bird but wolves normally considered a bird idiotic enough to fly close as prey. Maybe this wolf would actually join him unlikely as it was. "Flying? It's great! Some birds don't think of it as interesting, in fact most just think of it as a mode of transport and therefore the way you consider running." He said as he hovered there. "I actually consider this whole part as my part but don't worry, I don't consider it encroaching or anything. I guess there wouldn't be a way for me to contest it anyways between us two." He said pulling another smaller loop, his way of smiling. "But anyways, what'cha doing around here Ty?"

"Hm, running isn't just a mode of transport, it's exhilerating, it's fun, it is amazing. But I'm sure flying is just as similar." He turned on the rock, and looked out over some of the smaller trees out over the forest. It seemed endless, a living sea. So much room. He looked back to the bird. "I have no home, so my nomadic ways brought me here. I travel in a fairly straight line, hoping that maybe one day I'll reach the end of the forest. I know that I will find something there." He thought for a moment. "Hey! He said, suddenly excited, "You wanna come with me, Kaye? It'll be fun, a great adventure. All the way to the end of the endless sea." He pondered the wording of his last sentence. "I mean, all the way to the end of the almost endless sea!" With snicker, he hopped down from the rock. He called behind him, "You comin' or not?"

"Eh, good luck finding the end of this place. The only end i found was out east and that lead into a two-leg nest which is somwhere I'm never ever going again. Other than that an endless sea would be an appropriate name. So far. So sure Tyrik. It is a great adventure and I have nothing better to do." He said. "There is only one issue though." He said, feeling a bit nervous and embaressed. "I need you to share whatever kill you make. You might not understand but it's just the way I am. I can't hunt myself. I have no killer instinct what-so-ever therefor its hard to eat. I get help from an owl named Meera but I won't ask her to travel all the way out to wherever we happen to go." He said ashamedly. "I mean you can have first at it! I don't want to impose but it's really hard to find food left behind and I feel really tired of being a scavenger." he added hurriedly.

Meera sat in her hollow, glaring down at the pair chatting beneath her. What insanity. They feared crossing each other's territory, but Kaye was of the sky and, Ty, was it? He was an animal of the ground. She ruffled her feathers in irritation and stuffed her head under her wing.
Not too far away, the small and pathetic dog gave chase to a rabbit, the attempt ending in failure. Her yellow coat was patchy- her skin bitten by fleas. Her dark yellow left ear only stood up halfway; the right was all the way up. At the howl of the strange canine, she yelped and bolted a few yards, coming to a stop and cowering behind a fallen log.

Lorry Lavna slunk along the ground, eyes intent on where she knew she'd seen the bird land. It had been very showy, and very yummy-looking. Falcon was a rare treat for her. Never mind the fact that Lorry Lavna had never bothered to try falcon, or any other predator bird for that matter. But she didn't care. She was cheetah - she could take it.
Continuing to crouch, she could hear another voice. Whatever it was, it sounded big - but not tough. Eyes unblinkingly trained on the location, her ears twitched. Her pace slowed to slow, cautious, stiff steps, belly low to the ground.

Tyrik's ears perked up. There were other sounds around them, He heard a ruffle, a yelp and rustle, and something that he couldn't quite make out. "Meera, the owl, you say, like the one above us? You never mentioned another dog, either. What exactly is in this part of the forest. If you tell me there are cats or something here, you'll be lucky you can fly." He chuckled. "Not really. I haven't heard a single thing in this forest, except bugs, and I meet you and you hold out on me?"
Athral soared over the treetops to this desolate place of forest. There was nothing here but some rocks, a few cliffs, and trees. An endless view of trees. He was scanning the rocks below to see if he could catch any daring rabbits that liked to climb among some of the rocks. He looked down on a rock, and saw nothing but some black shadow. He was about to continue until he did a double take on the shadow. It was when the shadow sat that he knew it was alive. He aimed in a steep dive, aiming straight for the figure that was all too familiar to him. Before impact, he spread his golden wings wide, almost halting his descent. However, he collided with the black shape, cushioned by thick, shaggy fur.
"Not really. I haven't heard a single thing in this forest, except bugs, and I meet you and you hold out on me?" That was when Tyrik felt an impact against his ribs. It wasn't enough to move him, but it was enough to knock the wind out of his left flank. He wheezed, and looked to see what had caused the impact. He was shicked by the sight of a large Golden Eagle righting himself on the rock. "Hello, old chap." Athral said brightly. "Athral?" Ty jumped back. "It is you!" "Well, It may not be." Ty smiled. "Where have you been for ten years, eh?" "Oh, you know, nothing much." Ty smiled again. He turned to Kaye. "Kaye, this is Athral, he was a good friend of mine when I was young. Athral, this is Kaye. He's my pack now. Well, clan, I guess." "Well, I can't let you have all the fun with that falcon, so count me as the newest member of your pack, and I am honored to be so."

When the golden eagle dropped out of the sky Kaye could only think of one thing. "Son of a two-leg!" He shouted in surprise. When he saw that Tyrik was fine and, in fact, seemed to know the eagle. Kaye calmed down enough to take in the scene better. "first things first. Ty, its a forest, there tends to be life in it other than my own and yours." He said. "Other dog?" He added as an after thought. "Second. Sure Athral, you can join my clan. Uh. If you want to and can avoid eating me I guess. Thats kind of a rule. No eating people within the same clan." He said while he calmed his wits and began to fly in very tiny and precise ariel manuevers.

Meera raised her head again and peered over the edge, eyes slitted, "Don't say such foul things, Kaye. I don't appreciate such bad language." She ruffled her feathers again, then stepped out onto the edge of her hollow, peering down at the eagle and wolf. "There are plenty of animals in this forest. The thing is, there are only a few in this supposed clan Kaye is trying to construct. Beware some of the animals in this forest." Meera clacked her beak, her voice cryptic.
The yellow dog poked her head above the log and glanced around suspiciously. A crack from behind her made her leap about, heart racing, tail tucked under her belly, fangs bared. A skunk glanced at her, then carried on its way. From experience, the dog knew to leave the creature alone. She bounced over the rock and padded rather ungracefully along, head drooping, and she tried to smell for prey.

By the sounds of flapping wings, Lorry Lavna could tell there were more birds. She twitched her tail, barely able to contain her excitement. Peering through a bush she could see them - the falcon, still flying, flitting about in an obnoxiously gay manner; an eagle, perched on a wolf's back; and a frighteningly large owl, watching them from a hollow in a tree. The selection was easy for Lorry Lavna, who was hungry and heavily craving large predator bird: The eagle, which was stationary. She could take the wolf, should he choose; the bird was easy enough.
Lorry Lavna backed up, readying her haunches. Lowering herself to the ground, eyes locked on the eagle, she wiggled back, and then wiggled some more, ready to spring. Suddenly she launched herself, full-speed and without warning, at the large bird. Jumping up as high as she could get - which was pretty high, if anyone asked her - she extended her claws, flattened her ears, puffed up her fur, and opened her mouth wide, ready for the feathers.

"Cat!" Was all Ty could get out before he saw the beast fly from the woods. He knew he heard something unusual. It was soft paws. He had incredibly sensitive ears, It was an advntage for being a . . . wolf. Ty was no match at the moment, for the cat caught him off guard, so he hit the ground, his shoulder blades extended from his back, something that the cat might find difficult to claw at. Athral wasn't able to get a take off fast enough, but he was able to throust hiself enough to get off Ty's back. He took a claw, and positioned itself so that the cat's momentum would drive its nose right in the middle of his sharp hunting talons. If that failed, he had a sharp beak, and Ty would help. Damn cats.

Befroe Kaye could even apologize for the language he had used, a cat flew out suddenly at Athral. He had a flashback of when he was young and then an earlier one of the battle against the two-legs. His killer instinct was escaping him again. 'Kill it! Wait! It's going to kill me! It might just be a misunderstanding! DEATH! WAIT!' The conflict ran back and forth in his mind faster than light. Luckily for the cat and everyone around, he decided to take a flap back and wait instead of killing them all. He didn't even remember that he thought about it. "STOP!!!" He shrieked as loud as he could. He didn't want to see the blood of conflict anymore. Was there still blood on him now? Did he get it all of him since the battle with the two-legs? He landed on a branch and preened himself in a slow, unsure way. "What will this get us?" He asked loudly, his words slightly muffled through his feathers. What was the cat thinking? It was trying to take on an eagle! His new clan member for reasons unkown! "Cat! Who are you and what do you think your doing?" he shouted again, not even knowing whether they had stopped to pay attention or were busy killing eachother.
