I was watching Max Payne when I had a sort of vision. An ugly picture of people who's lives are based on killing others and dying in battle. Where god-like creatures that only the certain people can see help those that fight honorably and then on a whim, kill them, or maybe, just watch. Ugly yet masterfully painted.
this next part is very disorganized so make sure you read it carefully.
It is a world just like ours, but, there are certain people, people who are stronger, faster, healthier, and all around better in body than the masses of normal people. These few people live in large cities, form gangs of such, secret societies that control rich and powerful companies and families. They never get more people in one group than one hundred and one people. This people only exist to do one thing, kill the others like them, but that are not in their society, and most especially, to die honorably in battle after killing many foes. They are all of generally the same strength and speed and such, the only thing that makes one different from the other is their valor, the more valor, the deeper the blood lust the more likely they are to live to slightly longer than the rest. The longest they live is about thirty five then they go on a suicidal rampage. There is always a set number of these people, when one dies another is born. Sometimes one is born when another didn't die and other times one isn't born when one dies.
They see flying creatures that have the bodies of men and women with wings. They are covered in black feathers and have talons for feet no mouths noses or ears. their eyes glow and are solid colors, generally red, ice blue, and yellow. They are all equally strong and never work together. when one of the people who can see them die they take the dead one away and normal people forget they ever where around. If the person died dishonorably then the creatures burn the body. It is believed that they are taken away when they die to be reborn, but only if they die honorably in battle. These creatures will occasionaly help or attack certain groups or people but generally they watch. sometimes they will help just to turn around and kill the one helped. They never make alliances and are always fickle, there is no way to control them. The people are amoral always. They often do drugs, kill for fun, and have multiple sex partners. they generally get tattos. They always look good and have a vampire-like mystique. They can control normal people but don't make normal people kill for them as that is dishonorable. One faction never ges stronger than another. These rules are set in the fabric of the universe and never change.
And I think that is about it.
oh, they start seeing the creatures and becoming violent around ten, they can always recognize each other for what they are. its impossible to kill the creatures and it's very stupid to try. Creatures are only seen in the dark or in firelight.

He walked down the dark street. There were less people in it than the morning. Quiet, nice, the tenseness of war pulsing down the veins of his body. He wore an all black suit, high end brand, gold watch. It was loose enough to hide a mini-machine gun and a glock. A knife in his suit shoes. He could smell the enemy. To die in battle, yes, delicious. To kill others in battle, even better. The warriors were close. Wait! He looked around, something was wrong, He dropped to the ground, bullets made a zip as they passed over and around him. His gun was already in his hand, he didn't even watch as he killed two officials, sponsors, normals. He rolled, a man was running up to him. A machete clanked down on the cement. carried by one of his kind. Why didn't he have a gun? who cares, he died, twenty bullets into the gut. blood on his suit, on his face. A valkyrie watched, the black feathers, eyes ice blue. It took away the one he killed, another stared fixing the sulfur yellow pits upon him. He stood, quickly fluidly. the tip off may have been a set up but he still had won. he did not fear death, he knew he would be reborn, resurrected, rekindeled, recast. back to the base he would go, to home, to enjoy his short life and his success, women would be in his bed tonight.

The man crouched upon the spire of the decrepit church. He stared down among the ruined street and the ruined houses. They did not look it, but they were ruined. In a few fluid movements, he climbed down the ledges and onto the street. A bullet shattered the brick behind him and exploded. The man brushed some dust from his black cloak and spun as the next ones came closer. His cloak billowed beind him. He stood and walked closer to the man with the gun. He spun and dodged, his grace outdoing speed. He grabbed a sign as a temporary shield then, as the man reloaded, threw it like a disk. His head hit he ground before the rest of his body. Here, in a constant warzone, he killed to survive. A blue eyed valkyrie swept down and carried away the man and his head. Icerus carried guns, of course, but used them only when he needed. He'd rather use either what was around him or the sword starpped to his back. It was plain, a hilt curved for his hand and a straight blade. Plain, yes, but effective. He dropped to the ground as a bullet cracked by, then spun to his feet as the man came from a doorway. Icerus wasted no time in drawing his sword. He spun around anoter bullet, thrusting the steel into the man's gut. Again. He spun and in one motion cut the man's throat. His red blood painted the doorway, a sign that Icerus didn't need guns to kill.

*the next night.* Death, the primary point of life. Why else live except to die? Killing was a good cuase, something to do to everyone, something you would hope would happen to you becuase, how couled you be born again if you weren't killed? He walked down the crowded streets, slipping gifts into his targets pockets. plastic explosives, detonators, the button was in his pocket. They were the enemy, the ones who worked for the other company, they had to die.

Icerus crouched on his heels atop a tall building. A long sniper rifle was held firmly in his hands. Below was a shorter building, the building that her had set his scope on. He was watching it now, waiting for the ones who worked iside to look out a window or peek their heads out of a door. No sound came from the end of his silenced barrel as one bullet fired out, making one of the men's heads explode. He was on the roof, just deciding to go for a breath of fresh air. /No more breath for you./ Icerus thought. He killed three more. He ignored the first explosion. One took a bullet to his dick as he whipped it out to pee on the roof. He ignored the second explosion. One was shot as he walked out of the front door at ground level. This got attention not only on the street but inside. As soon as one more came out to drag the man back in, his head exploded. Icerus reloaded. He ignored the third explosion. By the fourth explosion though, Icerus looked to see. They were all happening in the same area. Someone was being sneaky. Looked like people were going to start checking their pockets to check for bombs for a while. Icerus shot one in the foot. He hit the ground and took a bullet to his ear, then his hand. Icerus could hear his screaming and he smiled. He shot him in the artery in his neck and his screams becmae choking, then he fell silent.

walk to the building, get away from the scene. The man next to him died, sniper. he continued walking, blood on his suit, beautifully red. safe inside the building now. detonate the other five. music.cascading in the wails of weak underlings. leave out the back, sniper death is dishonorable for killer and the dead when you are a real person. it did no good to make yourself a loaded target for a brother. in the back, one of his kind was waiting. left, right, down. bullets zipped by, he threw the leftover explosive, jump behind a gaint dumpster, detonate, enemy defeated.

Icerus looked down below. There was a man who stepped inside just as he killed the last. He looked like one who could have been setting off the bombs. He looked sneaky enough. Throwing down the gun, he pulled out an automatic rifle from his bag, throwing the pack over his back. He shimmied down the drain pipe, landing gracefully on street level. There was another explosion closer to the back. Icerus headed that way, running full out, ignoring shouts from behind. "So are you the one with the frickin bombs?" He asked, after seeing a shadow behind the dumpster.

he stepped out from the dumpster, pulling out a desert eagletraining it on the newcomer's head. "I don't have any bombs." he said honestly.

Icerus kept a steady finger on the trigger of his rifle. "Oh, I'm sure you don't. I'm quite sure they're all gone by now, eh? So at least I'm not worried about you blowing me up. Now, since I got the bigger gun, how about you put it down and we chat for a bit, eh?"

A quick glance, oleft, right. Nowhere to run. Can't go back, can't go forward. Damn. Unless. . . A loud noise, the trigger was pulled. The bullet followed an imaginary line towards the ones head.diving forwards now.at an angle to avoid the definant immediate bullets.

Seeing the subtle pressure applied to the trigger before release, Icerus ducked down and right, the bullet couldn't have missed by inches. Icerus aimed for the man's leg, trying to incapacitate him. Then he jabbed forward with his gun, aiming for his forehead.

No conflict. He shot at the man's leg, then jabbed at his head with the barrel of his gun
