((*All previous irritation forgotten* Well, alright then. I'm sick and I guess my moods are a bit jumpy. And I get really defensive when people step into my realms. My apologies to you, and on may we role play. ^_^)) Kura watched the girl leave impassively, slowly returning her gaze to the silver wolf. His posture had little effect on her, but she decided to play back. Her icy blue gaze met his, ears pushed forward and body stiff, tail waving dangerously behind her. She didn't bother to hackle- it wasn't worth the effort. "Just trying to save your life, whelp. But, fine. Go to the dogs. See if I care." She snorted at him, never breaking eye contact. If he wanted a fight, so be it. This middle aged wolf had a lot of fight in her still. Years of fighting showed in her rough, black fur. Her claws, grey against the rust red, were dull and worn. But her teeth, bared in a snarl, were sharp as ever though yellowed. One was chipped from where she had taken a gun from a Wolf Hunter in a vicious attack. ((If your interested in a more realistic wolf rp, try my wolf-based site- www.shadouw.proboards102.com AKA Bluk Wolf Clan. It is more realistic than Wolf's Rain. The story is as such- a wolf pack made up of a rough mixture of rogue wolves are fighting to survive in a valley against a cougar clan. Game is running thin as the two enemies clash. Shadouw, the Wolf Clan alpha, is trying her hardest to keep the pack together and not shame her father, Bluk. With only 3 participating members at the moment, the site is getting a bit stagnant. I'm looking for new wolves to bring life back into the site.))

Tsuka heard the obvious attack on his allegiance, and a look of disdain crossed his face, no blood need be shed between wolves, the outcome of the fight was beyond him, not knowing the physical strength of the shewolf. He thought better of it and tried to think his next action. He would not submit to this malevolent wolf, but maybe a simple apology would sate her anger and bring about a more peaceable solution. "I see we have got off on the wrong paw here, perhaps i should apologize for passing through your territory and stirring up trouble." He accompanied the remark with a sincere smile before lowering his tail to show a more relaxed stance, he lowered his head somewhat, swallowing his prideand anger towards her.

Kura relaxed visibly towards him, her tail remaining in a loose curl behind her. "All is well. But I think it wise we make haste from this area before the dogs come swarming." She inclined her head towards the baying of hounds. "This isn't much my territory. Hard to stake a claim in a city, what with all the humans out to kill us. I just live here today. Tomorrow, perhaps elsewhere." Her voice, though lacking angry tints, was still gruff, as if it went unused. "What's a young'un like you doing down in the cities? You still smell of the outside world, haven't been trapped in human stink as long as us others." She motioned vaguely towards Merik, then turned and walked away, eyes locked on a beam high above them. "If you're still interested, feel free to follow this time." She said cryptcally, leaping up to the beam and loping lazily along it before jumping onto a building and disappearing into a hole. Through the hole she slipped into a vent, not bothering to wait for the silver wolf or Merik. They were wolves; they could follow her scent if they wanted to. The vent twisted many times, Kura following an indeterminable path by memory. Pleased with the outcome, Kura shot through a brown cloth covering a hole in the vent and dropped into her 'den'. One of her 'dens', anyway. She glanced up at the cloth, resuming her human form and listening for the others to follow.

The baying was not urgent, the dogs still a long way off, the tracks of three had confused them, no doubt to the anger of the hunters. He looked from the cloth to the tree's and back. Go with Kura, or go alone. The loneliness had been unberable at times, nearly driving him mad. He found something about Kura to be to his liking, perhaps the attitude, perhaps the style, or perhaps her ability to forgive. The thoughts brought on memories of his pack. His mate had been like her, Strong and independent, a tear came to his eye as he thought of Lyna. "I lost my family once before, im hoping you dont die before my eyes as well" Tsuka muttered just loud enough for Merik to hear Without waiting for Meriks reply Tsuka darted off down the trail Kura left for them.

Merik followed impassively. If this silver wolf wanted a fight with Kura, he knew where his allegiances lied and would have helped Kura. He twitched a bit when Kura slid into the hole. He hadn't been into any of Kura's 'dens' for a long time. He shrugged (in a metaphoric wolf way) and followed Kura and the silver wolf (who he would refrain form calling just "Silver") into the vent. What the wolf said got to him a bit. He was curious about his past family life now. And what happened. Merik switched into his human form before he dropped through the hole. He hated dropping onto unknown places as was. He dropped through the brown cloth, hoping that there wouldn't be bloodshed any time soon. Merik generally tried being somewhat peaceful most of the time.

Tsuka stood up and looked around the den, rather cozy for the shewolf in her current situation. The dogs had appeared to have lost the scent. Still a bit sober from the thoughts of his former family and pack his look was impassive. They had come upon them in the night, all he could rememeber was his mate trying to protect thier cubs, a shot was fired, blood was everywhere, he couldnt think, the next thing he remembered was standing, the taste of blood in his mouth and the hunter and his dogs laying on the floor, thier lifeblood flowing from thier veins. He had mourned for months, he integrated into these loathsome creatures society and drowned his sorrow with the alchohol, god how wonderful it was for forgetting things.

Kura heard the pair rattling in the vent, and watched impassively as first Tsuka dropped out of the hole, followed soon by Merik. Her skin was dark, matching the shades that dominated her den. Blankets that had been stolen over the years made the room soft and inviting- something unexpected compared to the harsh nature of the she-wolf. A dusty, small window sat forlornly in one wall, and Kura glanced out it, listening to the fading sounds of the hunters and dogs. "It seems they've been deterred for the time being." She said in her gruff voice, turning slowly back to the males. Kura motioned vaguely with her hand towards the piled blankets- at first glance they appeared messy, but at closer inspection one could see how they'd been formed into nests of sorts. Taking wolf form, Kura curled up in the largest and most worn of piles; it was presumably her main bed. "Interesting to see you in my den again, Merik. Never thought it'd happen twice." She turned her icy gaze away from the man and to the other, "Now, young one, what brings you here, and what is your name?" She flicked her tail, her face relaxed and at ease. This was her den and she knew it well. A wolf would be foolish to attack another in a strange den. "I'm Kura, by the way. It isn't my full name, but few are worthy of knowing my full name. So Kura will have to do until I feel I can trust you."

He oriented himself with the surroundings, the place was better than his. He stood a bit uncomfortable being in a females den, he looked around the room while she layed down. on hearing her ask his name his ears pricked up and he turned to look at her. "my name is Tsuka Brightfang, and im not as you'd as you'd think, but i can kill if need comes to it," he said proudly " but not children or women, i cannot kill a child no matter how hard i may try and i take no pleasure in killing women 'lest they give me reason to." he said soberly. Again the memories of that dreadful night crossed his mind, his face darkened again, he shook his head trying to clear his thoughts, the hunter had been a woman. He stayed alert, not sure of the shewolf's motives.

"Yes, it has been long." Merik said, then contented himself to curling up in a corner as a wolf, his snout resting on his black paws. "Way to jump to the violent part of things. Never asked if you could kill, she just asked your business and your name." he said. "We all can kill. That is always assumed. Even I could, but I choose not, unless I have to. So, what exactly does bring you here, Tsuka Brightfang?"

He glanced to Merik with a passive look. "same thing all of our kind are doing, trying to survive in this god forsaken wasteland of the humans making." he said, still passive. " Ive been here about 63 days before i was noticed by that hunter." His nose caught the scent of food, meat being cooked by someone nearby. His stomach growled, he hadnt eaten in quite a while.

"Yes, we all live and die trying to survive. I try staying away from hunters and men alike. I live in what forests there are, far from cities. Rarely do I come near here." Above, there was a scrabbling of claws and a frightened looking ball of golden fur dropped from above. The wolf was instantly on his feet, frightened and angry, he was low, ready to lunge. Then he straightened, feeling no threat. "I'm-I'm sorry, hunters, dogs, I ran, saw the hole, came in, I'm sorry, I didn't know..."

Alerted by the sudden entrance of a new wolf, Tsuka lost the thought of food. Tsuka sized up the new wolf and raised his head, looking down on him with dominance. The new younger wolf was a bit... Golden fur was a rare trait among wolves, as was the silver tip on his tail. Golden fur usually meant and abundance of stamina, while the silver tip usually meant an intelligence beyond the years of the age, his mother had passed on his eyes, lavender, a trait usually meaning sharp sight, but he had yet to know anything of him having sharper eyes than any other wolf, nor more intelligence, he was an average white wolf with strange traits. He sat back down seeing no threat from this new wolf. He had lead hunters to this den, they would need to move quickly. "Well, Kura what do you suppose we do before the hunters reach your den." He said smiling. He heard the dogs, and the coarse voices of the hunters. What fun, this was his second time being chased today.

"Heh. YOu think dogs are going to get up here? Most of those hunters can't even get up here. No, the dogs are just going to end up barking at a beam. How are the hunters to know that we went to the building down a hole through the vents. And even if they make it into the vents, it's a labyrinth. By the time they get up here, someone will have turned onm the air and our scent wil have washed away." Merik said passively, not raising his head. He did check the wolf though. There was nothing unusual about the him, save for the golden fur and the fact that he was utterly flipped out. "Calm yourself, wolf, we mean you no harm. Well, at least I don't. It's Kura's den." Merik motioned to the fae. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude, I was just running, and then I fell in here."

Kura yawned, listening to the two males talk. She knew Merik rather well, at least she had a few years ago. Tsuka, she was discovering, was a strange wolf. She simultaneously wanted to bite him for his insolence and congratulate him for lasting so long in human territory. Most all wolves got chased on their first few days until they learned to hide properly and not cause a scene. Kura opened her mouth to add her own input, but instead a thump replaced her voice as the golden wolf dropped down. Unlike Merik and Tsuka, she didn't hesitate to jump to her feet, teeth bared and her chest rumbling. Her blue eyes locked onto the small wolf, listening to him explain himself. Slowly she lowered her head, eyes still on the small wolf, but her growling had stopped, as had her display of force. "I know you. And I know the scent on you. You're the one I've seen with little Timira. He's a foolish pup too." Kura kept her head lowered as she approached the gold wolf. Standing with her face beside his, she lifted her head quickly and cracked her incisor against his muzzle, then clamped her teeth over his jaw. She growled softly, releasing him after a moment and backing away. "You're lucky I don't kill you for dropping into my den." She whipped her tail once and a stiff 'wag', but it was obvious the she-wolf was agitated.

Sarum dropped his head after she released. He walked slowly to Merik, curling up beside the black wolf. "Sorry, man." Merik said. "No worry." Sarum replied. He became a human, a long gash on his jaw, with specks of blood around his nose and chin. "You mind if I stay, Kura? I'd rather not go back out to the dogs."
