This story i have started is based kinda off an anime i used to watch called Wolf's Rain. A short history is all the wolves have been thought extinct, hunted to extinction for money and greed of normal men. The wolves themselves have gained the ability to change shape to men, they keep the heightened senses and are simply trying to survive. No one seems to have noticed anything .... until now.
As the man quickly rounded the corner into the building Tsuka looked around, his black hair flying, began looking around frantically, the dogs had caught his scent and would have the entire town after him soon. he quickly took a step up onto a box and viewed his surroundings, the old warehouse had been abandoned years ago, the floor had a variety of canned foods, toys, and other luxury items considered useless in these times to humans, in the back of the warehouse Tsuka spotted a possible escape route. All the way back against the wall was a small hole a bit to small for his current state. He took off in the direction of the hole, near its place he loosed a ferocious growl and slid through, his silver fur catching just a bit on the chain link hole in the fence. He bounded down the hillside to a hopeful escape. The men in the warehouse cursed at thier luck, as the turned one caught a glint near the hole in the fence behind the warehouse, he reached down and plucked a few hairs off the fence. The man chuckled and knelt down, letting the dogs catch the wolf's scent. Tsuka continued running....running was his only chance.

((Then you should have it under the fanfic section. I'm a Wolf's Rain fan, fyi. I'm on to your shenanigans. Kura'll kick your ass.))
The pull of another wolf tugged at Kura's senses, and she turned her human head in the brute's direction. 'Fool.' She thought hatefully about him. Kura had spent years in the city and had, essentially, become a city wolf. She was capable of living in the outside world and did so more often than not, but she had learned how to hide from the dogs as well as the humans. She turned to follow the brute and, without missing a beat, a black fae with rust-colored paws and bright blue eyes stood where once a woman had been standing. Her underbelly was the same dark rust color and ran from her throat down to the tip of her tail. Picking up speed, Kura paralleled the fugitive wolf, coming only close enough for him to be able to catch sight of her. She lagged slightly behind, almost following him, though she could predict his course rather well. 'What a foolish wolf, letting himself get scented.' She thought again, feeling despise for a wolf she had never met. Of the things she had learned in life, hate and mistrust were on the top of her list.

Merik leaned againt a tree, a book open in his hands. He was a nomadic person, generally a wolf unless he was in shooting distance of any human population. Which he tried to stay away from. But humans had books, and books he liked, so when he was a human he would read these books. He liked how the worlds created in the endless pages would whisk him away to fantastic places and made-up worlds. And then he felt wolves. He glanced up, sighting a flash of silver. 'Ah, runaway.' He thought. He returned to his book, his long, shaggy black hair hanging over his face. He sighed, dropping the book beside him. In a moment he was a large, pure black wolf, his low black fur made him invisible in the night, and even his eyes were black, save for the whites of his eyes. He ran after the silver wolf, catching sight of another black wolf. 'Ah, so Kura found him, too.' He ran parallel to Kura, behind the silver wolf. They were always idiots, the ones who let themselves get scented. Then the dogs, then men with guns. That's why Merik tried staying away from humans.

Tsuka was beginning to feel out of place and in another world... , it had been so long since he had seen wolves, his pack had been wiped out and his mother had hid him in a hole, he watched as the men had come down with guns and killed everyone he knew, he had been lucky. These newcomers had a deep sense of mistrust, typical when a pack meets an outsider, but... the hatred, why. He quickly sprinted ahead of this new and growing pack, effortlessly he kicked off a nearby tree and did a complete turn, diving headlong at the wolves, just as he reached them, he dove left, trying to throw them off.

Kura skidded to a stop, pulling her ears back angrily as the silver wolf darted away. She caught Merik's scent and turned to look at him. "Merik." She spat hatefully, "I thought you learned your lesson last time we played together." The older wolf snapped, pulling her lips back effortlessly in a display of dominance. The baying of dogs, however, was more pressing. She knew Merik meant her little harm, but she still didn't trust him. He was a lone wolf, like herself. And they could be dangerous. As the dogs drew closer, she tore off after the strange male again. Lengthening her strides, Kura began catching up with the brute, rust paws eating up the distance carelessly. She saw an opportunity ahead- a rock jutting out of the ground. Timing her pace, she jumped onto it, then launched herself at the silver wolf. "Wrong way, pup." She snapped as she fell towards him, intent on stopping him to save his life.

(ok char nickname is the only thing copied btw ) (oh and check www.timberwolfinformation.org/kidsonly/posture/postures.htm#tail for the wolfs posture signs for danger and fear and whatnot.) Tsuka stopped abruptly at the threat, his momentum sliding him to a stop, just in time to be barreled over by the shewolf. Unsure of the attack he backed up, his posture low and his tail stiff ready to leap forward at any time, his anger only increased by the fact of his being outnumbered. The baying was calming but the tension between this hateful wolf was only getting worse. He knew the dogs could be nearby and something told him the dogs would have an easier time following the intersecting paths of three of his kind. "what would a mere sikla and her mate want with me" he growled provokingly He stood straight, his tail and head held high looking down on the older wolf. (Sikla is lowest in the pack ranking)

"I thought you were gone." Merik replied as he chased after her, more after the female than the male. He caught up to the pair after Kura tackled him. He stood beside Kura, not because he was exactly on her side, but because he knew her, not him. Merik held himself, straight, though the bristles on his back were sticking up. "Mate, no. And who are you, thinking you are the biggest one here? You're the idiot who decided to get yourself caught. Now, what business do you have here?"

"what do you mean what business, i was passing through, had some 'trouble' with one of the men and thats where things went wrong." Tsuka's ears pricked up at the sound of footsteps. he turned his head, they were light footsteps, not an adult, possibly a child. Tsuka quickly stood up and the light stopped at the edge of thier whereabouts. The little girl obviously saw the man standing there. the wolves behind him were still in the dark. "isnt it a bit late for a child to be out" Tsuka said somewhat roughly. "whosat?" "no one here to harm you, just passing through with my friends" he said trying to sooth his voice out so he didnt seem dangerous. He turned around motioning for the others to step forth before the child spotted them as wolves.

"Ugh." Merik said quietly. "Hi." Merik said smoothly to the girl as he stepped out in his human form. "My friend is right, isn't it a bit late for small children such as yourself?" he asked. He hated kids, especially human ones. They were always such a nuisance, so annoying and immature.

((Kaye's right, If he hadn't posted something, I might have bitch slapped you. I've studied wolves my whole life and my future job is as an animal conservationist. I work at an animal shelter. Don't patronize me.))
Kura flattened her ears at the silver wolf's comment about Merik being her mate as well as being a mere whelp. "I take no mates. And you better watch your tongue unless you wish to lose it." She growled, turning to glance at the insignificant girl as she approached. The child meant little to her, so Kura, undeterred by the gruffness of the new male, simply sat in the shadows and ignored the child. Kura's fur was bristled with anger, eyes aglow with her barely contained rage.

((exactly, although, Kayla, Scott can be like that and not mean to be patronizing. He was more, excited that he had done the research and found the information, not, look you are doing it wrong, this is the right way. And no, I do not think I will join this one. It is too long already and I don't know this particular anime.))
((oh, and Scott, If you were being patronizing I want you to know that you should have the utmost respect for your seniors in this forum. Especially Child of the Wolves. We all have been doing this longer than you and as I said before, Kayla knows all.))

(wasnt tryin to be patronizing, i thought by your name you knew something on this matter, just tried to be helpful, didnt know your life actually involved wolves, i apologize sincerely if you saw it as patronizing, see that remark more directed to myself then to remind me :> . oh and youve gai9ned my respect just by telling me you have something to do with conserving these animals, in my opinion wolves are the best animals ever. )
Tsuka glanced back at the agressive wolf and cleared his throat, drowning out the growl. he turned back and looked towards the girl. "You should run along, dangerous creatures and people are out at night" Tsuka said with a smile He had always had a soft spot for children, no matter human nor wolf, although he much prefered a wolf cub. "We'll be gone by morning so dont worry about us." he continued. "k, i see you 'round then" and without a nother wolf the girl turned around and went back the way she had come. Tsuka turned back around, his pride swelled from having diverted the child from a possible dangerous position. "Now where were we" He stood stiff and dominant once more, his lips curled back in a snarl, and his lavender eyes glinting dangerously.
