It sucks for Jacob maybe. Jacob is the onl onne being forced. But he's not unhappy so they both are fine. Renesmee has a choice. Odds are she would pick Jacob though becuase Jacob would be everything she looked for in a guy.

Only because put himself in that situation. He imprinted on Renesmee - what, to save her from Bella, right? He had a choice. He didn't have to imprint on Renesmee. He could have been like, "Suck it up bitch. You decided to go with the vampire bastard, then decided that you wanted to have sex before you went vampire. Should have thought of this before you got pregger, shouldn't you have?" But no. He had to be all valiant and noble and be like, "Suuure, old crush of mine, I'll happily take care of your darling little super smart daughter! And so you won't feast off her delicious blood, I'll imprint on her. That way, I'm certain to have a lover in seven years! Oh, joy! Thanks so much Bella, you're the best! " Renesmee, on the other hand, has no fucking choice. It's like. "Hi, is babi! Mommy milk? Ooh, lovely big Native American man! Oh my, what is doing? FEED ME. Ohyum, ily nao." Like she has a personality after someone does that imprinting shit to her. Who says that isn't a mind fuck? To a kid? Really? I know she's intelligent, but she's still only 17 when she stops aging (and really, her birth certificate will say she's 7. Talk about hard to explain!) By the way, if we're going off the theory that she has a choice and he doesn't, isn't that still a little sick? "Hi, little baby, in seven years, we'll be married! Because I love you; I sacrificed all my love for you. You sure as hell better love me because my heritage is doomed to die if you don't."

No, actually, Jacob had no choice whatsoever in the matter. He couldn't just walk up to someone and say, I'm going to imprint on you, now love me. If he could he wouldn't have spent several hours sitting on a park bench, staring at women as they went by. No, the way it works is when he sees the girl that is perfect for him, that is everything that he wants as a girl, then he imprints on her, but the imprinting doesn't work if the other girl isn't going to love him at all. That would be wierd. And awkward. But he can only imprint on the girl if both of them will endlessly love each other. And with Renesmee and Jacob, the two of them love each other. He is her protective big brother now, but soon enough he'll be her greatest high school friend, and after that they'll be lovers.

But if Renesmee doesn't want Jacob she can say no. It is too late for Jacob to say no. If anyone was mind fucked it was Jacob. He might have despised Renesmee if he hadn't imprinted on her but now he has no choice but to love her. Jacob would die for her but she doesn't have to die for him. Jacob has no choice to love her but she actually has to grow to love him the normal way.

-headdesk- And you didn't tell me? Geeez. <3 luvforyourrantstooooooooo.
As far as I can tell, he had a choice.
And Cory, this whole "They'll be siblings, then friends, then lovers!" thing is not helping. As far as I can tell, Jacob Black the Native American Werewolf from some clan starting with a Q is a freaking pedophile and Renesmee the controversial half-vampire baby with extraordinary growing talents has the ability to choose him or a life alone.
How the hell does an 18-year-old man decide that a baby is the love of his life?
How does he know that Renesmee, in return, will love him back? What if she grows up to be an angsty teen and runs away with some other vampire?
Haha. That would be cruel.
But seriously, babies are like dogs. They'll love anything that feeds them.
No offense to dogs.
Or babies.
Did you know I headdesk a lot now? But that's a story for another time. And another place.

Jacob didn't decide. His werewolf instincts did. Instincts don't care about whether they are being pedophiles or not. Instincts just are. no choices. No desisions. they just are.

OKAY, SINCE NO ONE READ MY LAST POST... JACOB HAD NO CHOICE. PERIOD. NONE AT ALL. NEITHER DID RENESMEE. BUT, JACOB'S WEREWOLF INSTINCTS TOLD HIM THE BEST MATCH POSSIBLE FOR HIM. HE NEVER WOULD HAVE IMPRINTED ON ANOTHER GIRL, RENESMEE IS THE ONLY GIRL IN THE UNIVERSE HE WOULD EVER IMPRINT ON. AND SO, IF RENESMEE WAS THE BEST POSSIBLE MATCH FOR HIM, THAT MEANS THAT HE IS THE BEST POSSIBLE MATCH FOR HER, LIKE TWO PIECES IN A FRICKIN PUZZLE. And so the two of them will live their lives as the best possible matches for weach other, whether it be the best possible brother and sister, or the best possible friends, or the best possible lovers. And Quil is another werewolf who imprinted on a two year old girl named Claire.

I don't read FULLY CAPITALIZED TEXT. I'm sorry. If you want to get through to me DON 'T FUCKING YELL.
Thank you that's all I wanted to know. No one bothered to explain that imprinting was an instinct based thing.
By the way - there's no such thing as "one true love." But, since we're discussing Stephanie Meyer and not, say, Fyodor Dostoyevsky or Albert Camus (unfortunately, I can't even put Phillip Pullman into the category, although he doesn't seem to pin Lyra with (William?) or whatsherface from his other trilogy with whatshisface as the only loves of their lives; they just kinda fell in love - yes. Both of them. No imprinting necessary) I think I'll let that point slide. A little. (And if you can find the flaw with the selected authors, I won't give you e-food, but I will give you an e-kudos.)
And I'm still never reading a Twilight novel.

You should really feel bad for Bella though. Bella was enchanted by Edwards vampire bedazzlement and she actually had no choice but to love Edward.
