(( Hey now, stop fighting! Dun make me start kickin' some butt! >:3 ))
Minna thrashed about, screaming in agony as the burning pain spread throughout her blood stream. She saw Jarrol approach her and in instinct she swung at him and somehow missed every time. What was that stuff he was pouring down her throat? It tasted awful, it made her gag, yet somehow she wanted it, it felt like she needed it. Soon the pain had stopped and she just laid there on her stomach. She let her gaze wander over the room as if she had seen it for the first time. She saw Garis sitting there, crying. She lifted her hand, some-what, and tried to bring it over to Garis. Why couldn't she move right? It was like her muscles were turned to mush. Had he forgiven her? An awful, gut wrenching memory came back to her of when she hit him. Kyard. Where was he? She had told him about it. He had saved her. No. They did. He brought her back. The horses! They were still in the meadow! She brushed it aside, still trying to reach for Garis, who seemed miles away.
Kyard stood in the corner. He had not moved, he could not. Their Queen was dying before him. He should not have let her leave, running from your problems was no way to help matters, and he encouraged it. From now on, he would not let her. He would have to stop her. Here he was in her chambers, shirt still off, his boots covered in mud and his chest crusted with her blood. He fought tears back, but ailed something awful. He just watched as Minna tried to reach to the sobbing Garis. 'Come on you old man, reach out to her, she's sorry!' was what he kept saying over and over in his mind.

Jarrol moved aside as Minna's body relaxed, the poisonous Wolfsbane diluted enough to have the effects of potent ginseng. Garis reached his hand out to hold Minna's, then he moved up into a kneel, then went closer to Minna, holding her close to him, wrapping his arms around her. "I'm sorry, Minna." He whispered. "I'm sorry."

Minna tried hard to wrap her arms around him but was unable to do so. "I'm sorry too." Her speech was slurred a fair bit, and it felt like her blood was ice. In what seemed moments, she was asleep against her will.

Garis simply held the girl tight to him as he felt her body relax even more, lulling into sleep. But he didn't let go. He couldn't let go. "Jarrol, tell Jordan to double guard up on the walls and the gates. Tell the men full weapons, full armor, like their at war." Jarrol nooded, bounding from the room.

~~~TIME WARP~~~
Minna awoke to the sun peeking over the hill; the strong red rays burst into her room and made everything seem so welcoming and beautiful. The trees had faded from a lush green to the warm colors of fall. She slowly sat up and winced as a sharp pain sliced her back. Her legs swung over the edge and embraced the cold stone floor. The only pin she felt was when sitting up and laying down, otherwise nothing was damaged. She walked over to her dresser and pulled out her deep red dress and put it on. Her hair had grown out some and now resembled a female’s hair style. She put on her worn leather shoes and opened the door. The guards stiffed and lifted their weapons as a salute. There was Kyard, awaiting her as he did every morning with a deep red rose in hand.
"Good morning Milady Queen."
"Good Kyard, must I turn you away again? Tis not proper."
"You will turn me away every morning, for it is proper to love."
"Kyard, I must marry a prince, not a stable hand."
"You are Queen, you can change that rule! I stood in your room night after night, nursing you back to health, making sure you lived, and this is how you repay me?"
"I don't know how I can repay you with out becoming your wife! I love you Kyard, I do, but I need to marry a prince. I hold the power to change it, I know, but I can't."
Kyard dropped the rose and walked out of the room. Minna closed her eyes for a moment, then walked to Garis' door and knocked. Hopefully he did not hear that fight, and if he had, she needed his help.
Marrok had awoken just as he had been since Minna's accident- before the crack of dawn. Grabbing a bite to eat in the kitchen and packing a lunch, Marrok went out to the stables where the stableboy had already started his chores for the morning. Marrok grabbed a brush before he slid into Horse's stall, intent on giving the old stallion a good brushing over. However, his eyes widened in shock when he looked into the stall. "Stableboy! Where is the roan that is usually here?" He snapped, grabbing the kid by the shoulder. "Um, he was sent to the butcher." The kid said in confusion, unaware that the roan had been more than a warhorse. "WHAT?" Marrok roared at him. "He was dead sir. Died of old age right there in his stall. Looked peaceful if ya ask me." The kid shrugged and walked away, wondering about that strange bard. Marrok went into the stall; the bedding had not yet been changed and the scent of his 24 year old roan remained. He slid down against the wall, hugging his knees as he cried in grief over the loss.
By the time Marrok had regained his composure, the sun had already lightened the dark skies and had even risen, the red rays licking the sky. The bard wandered out of the stables, getting a worried glance from the stableboy as he passed. Unsure of what to do with himself, Marrok sat down on the wall running alongside the stairs to the castle, staring off to the east at the sunrise. Within a few minutes, Marrok was startled out of his reverie as the stableman, Kyard, blasted out of the castle, nearly knocking the bard off his perch. "WHoa there, good sir. What has you in a fluster?" Marrok asked him, the grief over his lost horse momentarily forgotten, though the evidence of his sadness still evident on his face.
Kyard glared at Marrok until he noticed who it was. "Oh, it's you... Minna, she said she's in love with me but refuses the idea of marrage every time I ask of it...She claims that she can't marry a stable hand, it has to be a prince. I mean, she's Queen, she can change that law if she wanted to." He sat next to the bard. "What am I to do?"
Garis' eyes opened at the knock. He stood up out of bed with a groan. He quickly put on a loose tunic and pants, then swung the door open. "Ah, Minna. Good morning." He said, stepping aside if she wanted to come in. "How's your back doing?" he asked.
"Sir, King Trent asks for an audience with Queen Minna." Jarrol said as he stepped into the room. Being second in command of the army, he was the head of the Ambassador corps. during any other time, the ambassador would travel to other castles and other lands, but during times of war, the job fell to Jarrol. He was dressed in brown battle armor, his knives still hidden away. "When?" Jordan asked. "Today, if possible." "We'll get Minna up here and discuss it with her." Jarrol nodded.
Minna walked into his room, she found herself standing at the window. "It's doing fine. It hardly hurt this morning when I sat up." She tried hard to keep her voice happy, but she failed. It was obvious. She could not help but grin as she saw the meadow, so many a night had she snuck out with out anyone knowing, her and Kyard would lay there and talk, night after night. Sometimes they would go swimming in the river, climb the trees and talk, and there, at that apple tree, they expressed their love. Oh how such sweet memories could pain so. "I love him, but can't have him...I am the Queen, he is a stable hand..." She looked at Garis, then out the window again. The pond was steaming, the deer were starting to turn into the woods and the sun was red today, uncommon color for this time of year.
"It is good about your back." Garis pondered her next words. "My dear Minna, love is a fickle thing. It is always so surprising when the higher loves the lower, but never when the lower loves the higher. But when the two love each other, it raises questions. Minna, not all Queens marry someone of noble blood. Queen Elizabeth married someone not of noble blood, and he is now a prince. If you love Kyard, then you should love him, not keep turning him away. You think I don't hear the two of you in the morning or see you as you leave with him. Dear, Jarrol knows more about the two of you than you do. I know him, he is a good man, and if you marry him, people will ask questions and wonder, but if they see that the two of you love each other, than it will be fine. Look, all I'm saying is do what your heart tells you to do. In matters of love, never let your mind interfere."
Marrok leaned forward and listened to the stableman intently. The problem at hand milled about in his brain for a few minutes, before the bard finally nodded. "I see. She's playing hard to catch on a higher level. Alas, I think that girl has forgotten that not so many years ago she was a scullery maid." Marrok pulled out a small, brown stick and stuck part of it into his mouth, chewing on it slowly. "Perhaps try wooing her in a different way. Rather than every morning when she wakes up from her chambers as a queen, wait until you take her into the forest and plains and she doesn't think so much of herself as a queen. From there, she has to remember that she jumped from maid to queen, and that you could do the same just as easily of she permits it." With that, he leaned back again, chewing the stick idly.
Minna sighed and turned to face him. "Will it be all that easy? Going against most tradition?" She froze. Wait. Jaroll knew more than she knew? "How does Jaroll know more than I?"
Kyard listened to every word the bard had to say. "She used to be a scullery maid?" He thought for a moment; in the chain of power, she was below him. No. She was never below him, her blood was always royal. "Thank you for your advice, good sir." He hopped off the wall and turned to walk away then froze. "There's more cinnamon sticks in the stable if you wish, next to the sugar cubes." With that, he walked into the stables to get on with his chores.
"Thank you, Sir Kyard. I'll grab a few and be on my way." Marrok replied simply. He went into the stables and found the cinnamon sticks, putting 3 away into a pocket. He walked past Horse's stall, glancing in sadly, then pulled Cloud out of the next stall over. "It's me and you, buddy." Marrok took the golden stallion out of the stables and mounted him, leaving the castle behind at a trot.
Kyard watched the man take off on Cloud. He smiled, and had a little bit of an idea of what was going to happen. "Be safe, Marrok." With that, he went along with his business.
"It is not impossible to go against tradition." Garis said. "And you honestly believe that I'm going to allow you to wander off all by yourself?" Garis looked out the window. "Especially after you got that arrow in your back. Jarrol has followed you everywhere you go, watching you every minute. I'm not trying to invade your privacy, I simply want to know you're safe." Garis looked at Minna. "It's hard to watch someone you love lying bleeding on the bed, crying out in pain."
Jarrol walked down the corridor towards Garis' room. He turned at his door, knocking lightly. Garis stood opening the door, surprised to find Jarrol. Jarrol looked past Garis to see Minna sitting on the bed. "Good morning Garis." Jarrol said. "I wish to speak to Minna." Garis stepped aside allowing Jarrol to enter. "My lady, King Trent wishes and audience with you, he said sometime today if possible." Jarrol stood like a messenger, but with a relaxed familiarity.
