((You leave Garis alone. Just because he's a skilled fighter and he's...amazing, doesn't mean he isn't a nice guy to little girls...))

((So? I couldn't nmake Itsaki, cause it's a reaistic medieval, so I have to make someone like him, so out came Garis. He's a mix between a normal person, Tarya, and Itsaki.))

((Why don't you two take this somewhere else? Kevin, I do believe you are the one that told me that chatting on someone's thread was really rude. I am trying to read this roleplay, and I keep running into your posts not contributing to the story. Talk somewhere else and leave this thread alone. KTHXBAI.))

Minna dried her tear-stained face and slowly stood up. She nodded to him and apologized. “I’m sorry if I made a scene, I just, I have yet to get over it.” She smiles at him and pulled her cloak closer to her fit body.

"Don't worry, lass, I understand completely. Your mum was a great woman." He said as he led Minna into his house. He grabbed the horse's reigns and led him into an area beside his house, then closed the gate behind the horse. When he went back inside, he unstrapped his sword and hung it on the wall. "So what brings you to the city, hmm? I'd love to help you as much as I can, so long as your alone."

Minna smiled at him. She untied the stirngs that held her cloak close to her, and settled it onto a near by chair. "I am here to find work, and find someone to train me for battle." She looked down at her feet as she said the last part. "Silly, for a girl this I know, but I feel it is right."

Garis stared at the girl for a moment, then looked at her physique, examining what weapon she could wield and how he could get her into that weapon wielding shape. He hesitated, not knowing whether he should or not. He chose the former. "So you wish to become a warrior and avenge your old man's death and reclaim his honor, I'm assuming." Garis said, it wasn''t a question. "If you want, you could stay here and do some chores around the house to build yourself up, and I've got a few swords laying around if you want to try one. How about this, I'll train you, you can use any of the swords you find around here, I've got a few. Then, after a while, and I think you're ready, I'll get old Marius in the city to make you a good sword for yourself." He examined the girl again. "But I'll warn you now, battle is a dangerous thing and I'll be damned if you think it easy. I won't go easy on you just because your Bernt's daughter. You want another trainer, fine by me, but I'll tell you this, your father chose me to be his General, and I lost just as much as you did in that battle. My brother, my title, my honor, and I swear so long as blood runs in your veins you'll see me fighting beside you." Garis sort of froze after his speech. He wasn't expecting to give one, nor was he even expecting that it would come out in the words that it did. He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose with two fingers. "You should probably get some sleep before you do anything. It's near dawn and you wouldn't do well with no sleep. I'll be upstairs if you need anything." He gave the girl one last, longing stare, a kindness behind his eyes said that he would treat the girl as his own daughter, and damned if that ever changed.

Minna listened to every word he spoke, every ounce of sound she took to heart. "Thank you, Garis. You have no idea how much this means to me. I will repay you somehow. I will avenge not only my father, but your brother as well. I will get your title back to you, as well as your honor." She gives a respectful bow. She looks behind her, then back at him and stands up. She grabs her cloak. "Where am I to bed?”

Garis gave the girl one last longing glare. "Dear, Bernt was my brother. Not literally, but he damn well might as well have been. And I appreciate it, but my title means naught if your father is not alive." His eyes glazed over as his memories returned to the battlefield of that fateful day. "As for my honor, all I want to do is reclaim your father's name, and that will be fine for me. Come." He led the girl up the stairs, past the room that looked over the street. "You can pick a sword and bow from in there in the morning, I'll have to find you one that matches you." The sentence was detatched in a way, and he continued the way down the hall. "Latrine is in here." He pointed into a small room. He led her on, taking the turn to the right. At the end of the hall was a guest room. "You can sleep in here, there are blankets and pillows in here." He paused. "And, Minna? Thank you. Thank you for returning hope to a lost old man."

Minna smiled at him. “Kind sir, I will never be able to thank you.” She went to give him a hug, but pulled back. She didn’t know if it was proper to give a stranger a hug. She shifted her weight and walked into the bed room. She was drawn back by the room. It had a nice bed with colorful blankets. The curtains were drawn over the window, only a small sliver of the outside world shown through. The dresser was a beautiful red color with brass knobs. Intricate designs were carved into the masterpiece. At the end of the bed, on the floor was a hope chest. It was aged, beaten and battered. It was a small room, but it felt nice. “Oh my,” she was hardly above a whisper. “It’s beautiful!” She sets her cloak down on the bed and slowly turns around, looking at the whole room. On a bed stand she saw a candle and a book. She looks at Garis. “Thank you again. It means so much to me…I feel like, in some way, you are my father, just because you were so close to him, and you would go through all this trouble for me.”

"It was my niece's room, she used to come in the summers sometimes. She told me how she wanted the room, and I made it for her. It's yours as long as you wish to stay." He listened to the girl. "Your father was a good man, he would have been a great father. I will treat you just as you were my own daughter." He noticed the girl's movement earlier, so he held his arms out for her.

Minna looked around the room again, taking in every detail. "You must have spoiled her." She listened to what else he had to say, and then smiled at him. "I would have given anything to meet him. Mother used to tell me tales, before I went to bed, about him. She used to say that he was as big as strong, and his heart was an open well, and it never ended. She used to say his love would sustain her life, just as a well has water. With no water, there is no life." She walked up to him and gave him a hug. A tear slid down her slender cheek. She still had a body of a child, a heart of a woman, and the mind of a warrior.

Garis stroked her hair, holding her tight. "Yeah, he would have been the greatest father, would have spoiled you too. He would have loved you to no end. Don't worry now. He was a great man, and soon I will take you to where he is buried. Don't worry, we have his memories and we have each other." He held the girl carefully, but tight. He kissed Minna on the top of the head. "Don't worry." he said again.

She burried her face into his chest and tried not to cry. She held on to him for what seemed hours, and let go. "Thank you, kind Garis." With that, she turned around and sat on the bed.

Garis simply held her until she broke away. "Not at all. You can get yourself tucked in, I'll be downstairs if you need me." Garis turned and closed the door silently, then down the hallway and trundled down the stairs, all of his movements silent. He had once been an assassin, he was trained to move silently, but he did not do it now because he planned to kill, he did it now so that the girl was not disturbed.
