Sooo, my dog, Chuppa, has cancer, right? So we took her to the vets to have her put down (she's 16). The dumb vet gave us pain meds for her isntead. She has to take four a day. I'm so mad! She's old, she's lived her life, put her out of her misery, ya know? She has issues walking because of her joints, she coughs a lot, she ahdrly eats, her teeth are rotten (she only has a few left)...why prolong the death? -___-

Some vets can't handle it. If your vet has never worked in a place of death, they are reluctant to put animals down. Working at the shelter, we are forced to put down perfectly healthy animals as well as sick or dying. Because of this, our vet tech will be a great vet one day if she decides to become one. She'll know when it is time for an animal to go. I now have the makings of a great vet because of this. It's a hard balance to learn. Thank your vet for thinking of you, but tell him/her that they need to get a perspective on life and face death.
They don't have to deal with strays coming in every day after being slammed by a truck and their innards are hanging out by a string, the animal desperately clinging to shreds of life. They don't have to face that cat, someone's beloved pet that got lost, that ate coyote poison.
Sorry, mini rant. I'm sorry about your dog. She'll find peace soon. Give her the pain meds, and maybe she'll be able to die quietly and peacefully in her sleep, poor girl. And it'd be at home, too. I'm too tired to follow through with my rant. I will go to bed instead. *Headache pounds ruthlessly*

Dr. Pinky (I know, funny name) has been a vet for about 20 years. He took care of my dads dog when he was still in college, so I don't think it's that. We don't care much for the vets, this one anyways. they've always ripped us off. So...what ever. We get to spend $11 every 2 weeks for her refills. -_-

So, I stayed home from school today becuase I ended up throwing up...And not that long ago we got a phone call from the school saying something along the lines of: A note was found in the boys locker room. THe person who wrote it said they were sick of being bullied and they were going to bring a gun to school on Monday. Now mind you, in the past month there has been three cases where bullets were found in the school, as were a few empty shells. Our school has had a few very...violent happenings, and we live in an area where it's hard to find a home that does not have a gun, a lot of the kids at our school hunt. So here is mom's and my question: Should I go to school on monday? I don't think I should, I have a real nasty gut feeling that something is going to happen...I've never felt this scared of something in a while. s134.photobucket.com/albums/q97/autabee/?action=view¤t=w-e010.flv
