I copied and pasted this from another forum. My day has just sucked, all around.
Today, Mr. D (the principal) came on the speakers and gave an announcement. "Students and staff, we are in a Code Black. Teachers, lock your doors and windows, take attendance, and check your e-mail." At first we didn't really know what Code Black was, we had never had one, then my friend, Sara, she spoke up and said we had a code black three years ago. So what is code black? Means there's a bomb in the school. There was, again, another note found in the bathroom. All it said was, "Bomb. 2:30". Here's something my friend Katie-Jo wrote about it. (FYI: BOCES is a school attached to ours, it's for troubled kids that have, I don't want to sound rude, but they have issues.)
I've heard two rumors so far.
One is that a student at Boces freaked out and
said that he was going to blow up the school.
The other is that there was a
note found in the middle school girls bathroom that said, "bomb at 2:30"
More people are going with the second one.
Honestly, I don't care, I am sick
of all the "threats" at this school.
First there was bullet caseings, the next day
there were bullets.
Then some one wrote on the guys bathroom wall in the
highschool that "he" was sick of being picked on/ bullied and was going to
bring a gun to school and shot everyone. Now there is this, a bomb threat.
What is going on at our school? Are people so horrible to eachother that
these threats of violence are needed, or deserved? Does anyone know who
is doing this? Or more importantly, why? Is it one person or several? Are
these threats real, are they a cry for help, or are they someone's idea of a sick
joke? Personally, I believe that someone wants help.
If I'm right, I have a
question. A question to the teachers, the students, Mr. Degroot, Mr.
Coole,
parents, people higher up, and to the rest of the community.
Are they crying
loud enough, are they screaming? Is anyone listening?
Any answers?
So, after they took attendance, and we were quietly (most were hiding it, like me) freaking out and getting worried. They didn't tell us what was going on until we got home. We had to piece it all together, like, when we had to line up at the lockers, took a head count, led us out to the busses one class at a time, took away our cell phones...Watching the bomb squad run into the school, police cars outside the building, dogs sniffing...I was able to call my mom, she told me that Dad had been called out (he's in the fire department), that Rushville and Middlesex Fire Departments were to be on standby AT the Rushville center. (My school is in Rushville). They held us on the bus from 1:42 until 2:36. I was walking home (the bus drops me off at the corner store). I saw my mom waiting in the yard and I ran up to her. I don't think I've ever given her a tighter, stronger hug than I did today. Once I got home I was crying (still am really shaky), my mom has been upset all day, and I don't blame her. This school is so idiotic to ignore these cries for help, they're hardly trying to find the person that keeps leaving these threats and then to hide it from us kids until we're home? Any idea how many rumors I heard today? My body is already dealing with enough stress, lets add this to the stress level. They closed off the rode to the school, so many parents rushed to the school to pick the kids up, and they were told they couldn't, they had to go to the bus garage. When the busses pulled away to let us sort out onto our busses, the parents were storming up and surrounding Chirco and Degroote (two head peeps at the school).
I am very scared; I don't want my little brother to go to this school. I don't want him to reach the higher grades here; they do nothing for this stuff until it gets too real. If they had tried to catch the person/s, we wouldn't have to deal with this. What if next time they don't catch it? What if next time my brother is in the middle/high school and this happens? I'm beyond mad at how the school is dealing with this. I just thought I'd let you all be updated on what is going on. My mother and I have posted before, how all this stuff is going on at the school. Since January, there has been three bomb threats (today was the first one they paid attention to), a gun was found, bullets, and a cartridge, all on separate occasions. This is bull! They need to take care of it. I know there is only so much they can do, buy my goodness! They could be doing so much more! Hold an assembly for it, compare the handwritings, ask students if they have any idea who it is that's doing this, let the students know, who ever is doing it, if they come forward they won't be in trouble, but they will get help...Ugh, I don't want to go back. But I have to. I left Breaking Dawn in my locker, and I really want to find out what's going on...
Thanks for listening.
